The best training advice I have received

"Teaching is not about your teaching, it is about the students' learning" - Courtesy of my Mum

I will never forget this one. It is so easy to fall into the trap of being the "best" teacher you can possibly be, but the real question is will that help the student you're trying to help learn?

"Don't smile until xmas"

This one I find particularly challenging. Maybe I'll get there one day!

"Keep a log"

Of everything and anything you can. Both useful for your own planning, professional development, tracking pastoral cases, etc... Literally everything can be made better by a spreadsheet in my humble opinion.

"Just because you want to be heard, doesn't mean people have to listen"

Something that could be applied to most situations....

"Never apologise for being the smartest person in the room"

This is not a brag from me, but more that if you ever feel lost in a lesson remember you are the one with the degree! It always boosts my confidence 👍

Have a lovely Friday and wonderful weekends everyone!
